Brietling

Brietling was founded in 1884 by Leon Brietling and is now one of the last remaining family owned big Swiss watch brands.

Their long standing association with aviation started in 1936 when they became the official supplier to the Royal Air Force.

In 1984 they partnered with the ‘Frecce Tricolori’, the aerobatic team of the Italian Air Force, to create the Chronomat aviation chronograph, one of the best selling models in the Brietling collection.

In 1995 they launched ‘The Emergency’, the first wrist-watch with inbuilt distress transmitter.

At the beginning of this century Brietling became the only major brand to have all of its watch movements ‘Chronometer certified’ by the Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute.
